Our Mission

We enhance acceptance and inclusion for people with significant disabilities in Northern Bangladesh by providing skill development, vocational training, physiotherapy, and mentoring. We hope they will increase their physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health and know they are valuable members of society.

Our Vision

We believe in the dignity, the uniqueness, and the intrinsic worth of every individual. We want to see those who are marginalised due to disability become valuable members of society empowered by opportunities to grow, further develop and live productive lives.

UN Sustainability Goals

Rupantor works towards the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This project works toward the following SDGs:

The relationship between economic conditions and disability is cyclical. Disabled individuals often cannot contribute to household income and require additional medical expenses, making their families poorer. Consequently, people with disabilities have higher poverty rates than those without disabilities.

Disability and poverty are intricately interlinked. Those with disabilities are often in a vicious cycle of poverty. Disability can cause poverty and with it, malnutrition, poor access to health services and sanitation, and unsafe living and working conditions.

Extreme social and economic deprivation due to poverty could have a negative impact on the physical and mental health of people with a disability. People with disabilities have generally poorer health and lower self-esteem.

People with disabilities face barriers to participating in education, employment and social activities. Therefore they have poorer educational achievements and fewer economic opportunities.
